This session will be approximately 1.5 hours long and will focus on taking a portrait from the early painting stages toward a more resolved and finished result. Rather than aiming for perfection, we’ll concentrate on understanding the decision-making process behind portrait painting and how to keep the painting moving forward with more clarity and confidence.

You’ll learn how to mix believable skin tones without creating muddy colour, how to recognise when something feels “off” in a portrait and make practical corrections, and how to approach refinement across the painting as a whole instead of getting stuck in small details too early.

This webinar is structured as a live demonstration, so there’s no need to paint along during the session. You can simply observe the process, focus on the explanations, and take notes as we work through the portrait together.

A replay will be sent afterwards, so you can revisit the material and apply it at your own pace.
